IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT DMV SERVICES

The State driver license office on Orange Blossom Trail will close on February 17, 2015. In order to accommodate the increased work load, the Tax Collector’s office has implemented new procedures for offering DMV services.  Osceola County residents will now be able to make an appointment for all DMV services beginning on February 17, 2015.  Osceola residents are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the appointment system to avoid lengthy waits which will be caused with the closing of the State driver license office.  These appointments will be available to Osceola County residents only and can be made on-line by clicking on "Make An Appointment" above.

The Poinciana and St. Cloud branches have been offering limited driver license services, by appointment only, for several months. An expanded appointment system will be implemented in the Main Office located in the Osceola County Government Center at 2501 E. Irlo Bronson Hwy., Kissimmee, FL 34744 which will allow Osceola County citizens to make appointments for all motor vehicle and driver license services.  The Main Office will be the only office offering the expanded appointment service.  Poinciana and St. Cloud branch offices will continue to offer ID cards and driver license renewals only, by appointment only, and all other services will be on a walk-in, first come, first served basis.

The closing of the State driver license office will significantly increase the work load on the Tax Collector offices and has required an adjustment to the manner in which local residents are served. In following with the policies of neighboring counties who have limited or eliminated service to out of county residents, we will no longer provide DMV services for non-Osceola County residents beginning on February 17, 2015.  While no one likes to take this position, the lack of additional funding to cover the increased work load caused by the closing of the State office will be a significant drain on our budget and will force us to focus our efforts on serving our local residents only. Osceola County citizens will continue to be served on a first come, first served basis, but appointments will take precedence and wait times for walk-ins could be significant.  Residents are strongly urged to avoid the wait by making an appointment.

The State will continue to offer the driving skills test at their current location on Orange Blossom Trail until sometime in March.  Until that time, the Tax Collector office will not be offering the driving skills test.

Appointments for the driving test can be made for the State office using the link below.
